Building Their Dream Home: The Kennedy Family's New Construction Story
The Kennedys owned homes in both Kentucky and Tennessee — and decided it was time to sell both and build the custom home they actually wanted from the ground up. They found Lavell online and reached out based on his experience with new construction. From there, Lavell introduced them to several builders, helped them choose the right fit, and has been walking beside them through every step since — including guiding them through the land purchase and connecting them with a lender for their construction loan.

The Process
New construction comes with dozens of decisions most buyers have never had to think about — and that's where Lavell's experience comes in. He's been walking the Kennedys through what to plan for before it's too late to change: outlet placement, running CAT6 cable for future-proofed internet, planning ahead for where TVs and furniture will actually go, and the small details that are easy — and expensive — to miss once walls are closed up.
The house is being built right in Lavell's own subdivision, just behind his house — close enough that he's able to walk the site regularly, not just show up for scheduled milestones. The team just had their first walkthrough with the builder now that the house is framed, going room by room to flag exactly these kinds of details before drywall goes in.
Scriptures in the Walls
“I said I was writing scriptures everywhere throughout the house — and I actually was.”
Before the drywall goes up, the Kennedys are writing Bible verses on the framing throughout the house. Once the walls close, those verses stay right where they are — permanently built into the home their family will grow up in.
